Psychotherapy & Trauma Healing

Healing mental and emotional health issues, anxiety, depression and C-PTSD

I'm supporting the healing process of individuals who are suffering from mental and emotional health issues, anxiety, depression and C-PTSD.

To effectively shift into a new, more healthy way of creating our life’s reality, its helpful to learn how to

  • explore our feelings, needs and sensations with great openness, awareness and curiosity

  • develop a “felt sense”, a feeling of what’s going on in the body right now

  • get to understand all parts of ourselves with acceptance, compassion and love

  • explore all our parts, no matter how wounded or destructive, with courage, curiosity and compassion

  • develop strong Self-agency (adult consciousness) as the "motor" of self-healing and personal growth

  • safely and gently access our core wounds from an adult Self that is disidentified from past woundings or trauma responses

  • deal with our emotions in a self-supporting way

  • acknowledge our needs and set healthy boundaries

  • recognise our anger and aggression as a life-affirming force

  • come home to our body: accept and trust our body, and understand it’s important messages for us

  • trust in connections and allow vulnerability as well as true intimacy

  • create / maintain safe attachment bonds that we as humans are all hard-wired for

  • disidentification and opening up to different possibilities (“Who am I really?”)

To balance back to a natural state of relaxation, trauma-informed psychotherapy helps you to reconnect to your body and self-regulate your emotions and nervous system. It supports you understanding the images and beliefs you are carrying about yourself. And you will learn to look at your ways of relating (or of avoiding relationships) in a new way. You will not only get to know yourself much better, but find the needed recourses within yourself to make the shift from surviving to thriving.

There are the modalities that I like to work with:

NARM® - The Neuro Affective Relational Model

NARM® is a cutting-edge model for addressing attachment, relational and developmental trauma, by working with the attachment patterns that cause life-long psychobiological symptoms and interpersonal difficulties. These early, unconscious patterns of disconnection deeply affect our identity, emotions, physiology, behaviour and relationships. Working simultaneously with these diverse elements can be a radical shift that has profound clinical implications for healing complex trauma.

IFS® - Internal Family Systems Therapy

Each one of us consists of multiple personality traits, or "internal parts" that form a system like an internal family. All our parts, even the most destructive ones, have a positive intention for us. In some way or another, they want to protect vulnerable and "exiled" parts who have experienced abuse, abandonment, betrayal or neglect within their family of origin, culture or community. In therapy, all those parts are welcome. We give space to acknowledge them and listen to their story. When we meet them with an open heart, with curiosity and compassion, we can support them to become more relaxed and unburdened. Our system of internal parts can mature and heal.

By attuning to these parts that hijack our lives as a result of painful events, that cause unhealthy patterns and self-defeating behaviours, we can integrate and re-educate these parts, and restore an authentic state of well-being and the ability to “be” who we truly are.
